Join us for a guided bus tour through Wrangell to learn about Tlingit history and the meaning behind traditional totem pole carving.

You’ll start with a drive through downtown before heading to Chief Shakes Tribal House, a traditional Tlingit clan house set on a small island just off the waterfront. Step inside with your guide and learn about the Naanyaa.aayi clan, including the significance of house posts, carved screens, and cultural traditions that are still honored today.

From there, continue to Totem Park, where historic and replica poles stand in the heart of Wrangell. Each pole tells a story. These carvings mark events, honor leaders, and preserve history.

You’ll finish at the Carving Shed, where you can see the tools and techniques used by today’s Tlingit artists before heading back to your ship.
